Worm Hunting

on 4.25.2008.

We came home on Sunday to find about 100 worms in our driveway from all the rain. Avery thought it was very cool that there were so many. Usually she has to dig in my flower bed to find just one. We called Grandpa Dave and he told us that they are $3/dozen so we better catch a few and keep them for fishing. Avery was a little hestitant at first but then she started picking them up and putting them in a planter full of dirt. She developed quite the technique. She would find a big ones all streched out, get a rock and put it down near one end of the worm, the worms would squish their bodies up and then she was able to pick them up without hurting them. After a picture of each one she would run over and place them in a planter. Ally was not interested in picking up the worms. Instead, she drove around on her big wheel looking for worms. Avery repeatedly warned her not to run over any!
